What does it mean to look like Jesus? It’s not a far off goal like we think it is. When we call ourselves Christian we are calling ourselves Christ-like, so what does that mean? Let’s first look at what Jesus was like in scripture. Jesus was so in step with the Father, not only because he was God in human form, but he was fully man as well. He was a keeper of the 10 commandments, born of the tribe of Judah of the nation of Israel, prince of peace, king of kings, lord of lords, son of man, savior of the world. How do we compare to that? Let’s step back for a minute and analyze the characteristics of Christ. He was loving, patient, kind, gentle, wise, faithful, just, and above all merciful. However, there was a side to Jesus most people have to look deep into scripture for. He was humorous, child-like, inquisitive, and a servant. He calls us to be the same way to everyone, even our enemies. I realize I still haven’t answered the question fully yet. Each of us were made in the Lords image, we were made to be Christ-like to begin with. Being Christ-like isn’t a matter of shifting yourself as much as it just shifting your perspective to realize that being like Jesus is actually how we were made to be. God knows what he made us for and who he made us to be, and he decided it all even before you were a thought in your parents minds. So long story short I can’t answer this question for you, I encourage all of you to go ask God yourself “how can I be like Jesus?” And don’t stop there ask this every morning “How can I be like Jesus Today?”
