Hello everyone it has been so long since I made a blog I know, at least 3 separate times I can recall trying to sit and write one and either I couldn’t come up with something to write or God had something else for me to do and sent me to do it. Almost every one of these times, I found myself asking him “Why God?” “What are you trying to teach me?” Now that CGA is over and done I have plenty of time before I go back to Georgia in February to think on these questions. Funny thing is I’m still not sure. I have some ideas of what it was, but I still don’t know, and I’m coming to the realization I don’t have to know.

Do we really need to know God’s plan? Do we need to know what he’s thinking to be able to follow him? Do we need to do anything to be used by him? These are not rhetorical questions and I hope you as the reader actually ask yourself these questions when you’re done reading this. The answers I have come to for myself are quite simple, NO! Too often we do jokingly or rhetorically ask ourselves these questions and answer the same but then I ask why do you still act as if you believe the opposite.

We try so hard to “please God” with our actions, and don’t realize we were made to be loved. Like me with this blog that took me so long to make. I was trying to do something out of a misplaced sense of obligation when in reality I never had to write one in the first place, I choose to write these when I do manage to write them. I do love writing these when I do and that literally is good enough reason for me to write them in God’s eyes. He loves what we love and he loves doing it with us. God will never expect you to do anything, he will give you a choice, and what you choose will not change his love for you. God’s love is first, last, and always. All the things God asks you to do boil down to 3 things, love God, let him love you, and love others the same way he loves you, and all of these in that order. You can’t give love if you don’t receive it, in the same way you can’t give what you don’t have.

I guess what I am trying to say in all of this rambling I am doing is that God loves you, and the more you try to earn it, the less you receive of it, not the less he gives, do not mistake the two. God always loves you but if you don’t submit and let him love you first then, well, you will have a hard time effectively loving others. YOU ARE LOVED! We often forget this so here you go. YOU ARE LOVED BY THE MOST HIGH GOD!! That is sufficient enough.

I could go on for hours with no end so I have to cut it off here. Do not take what you heard here and think it enough, keep digging into God and asking for ways to open your heart to his love more. Contrary to popular belief it is not a sin to ask things from God.

One response to “Finally I wrote one!”

  1. Alex this is awesome, thank you for writing this. I can hear your growth in the knowledge and love of Christ in the middle of this blog. I’m proud of you both Shawn and I think of you often and pray for you as well
